The story of Six Gun Chili Mixin’s starts back in 1948, deep in San Angelo, Texas — as close to chili country as you can get without spillin’ beans. That’s where the Ol’ Hired Hand, our founder and resident chili wrangler, first started cookin’ up batches of bold, trail-tested chili using a family recipe that packed flavor, spice, and a heapin’ dose of Western grit.

Folks back then believed chili could cure warts, grow hair, and generally make a better man of ya. We ain’t claimin’ all that, but we do know one thing — what Will Rogers said is true:
“A bowl of chili is a bowl of blessedness.”

By 1978, we bottled up that legacy into what would become our very first product: Six Gun Original Chili Mixin’s, a complete dry blend that lets you cook award-winning chili in just 30 minutes — your way. Hot, mild, with beans or without, it’s a mixin’ that made its way into cookoffs, campfires, kitchens, and even the U.S. Senate, where it was honored as “An American Original.”

Not long after, we turned up the heat with our second blend: Six Gun Chipotle Chili Mixin’s, featuring slow-roasted chipotle peppers from Old Mexico. It’s got that smokey-sweet flavor that’ll knock your boots off and get the neighbors talkin’.

Today, we’re still doin’ what we do best — makin’ chili the cowboy way. No shortcuts, no weird stuff, just real ingredients, rich flavor, and a story in every spoonful.
